CANOE CARE

FALL STORAGE:

Wash canoe inside and out removing all sand, dirt, etc. with hot soapy water.

Rinse with clean water and put on a pair of saw horses to dry.

Canoes are best stored upside down supported evenly - inside a boat house, etc.

If one has to store the canoe outside - it should be off the ground and covered with a good water proof tarp.

SPRING TUNE UP:

Approximately every two (2) years (depending on useage), the interior should be lightly sanded and re-varnished.

The exterior also has to be checked and painted (after sanding) when necessary.

Remember that two (2) thin coats are bettter than one thick one.
